Where is heaven? We assume because Jesus ascended into heaven that it is very far away. While we are here, we have “power from on high” to resist temptation, the power to deny ourselves, the power to love and forgive, the power to pray, the power to be a Christian wife and husband and raise a godly family, the power to be a Christian teenage and remain true to Jesus, this power comes from on high through faith in Jesus and keeps coming to us through the Gospel in Word and Sacrament.

Do you know your numbers? Each and every American citizen, including children owes $85,009 (and rising) in national debt. Sin is a debt against God. At some point, in one shape or another, debts come due-they matter. BUT because of Jesus’ sacrifice for you, your greatest debt, the spiritual debt you could never pay off has been wiped clean!
God’s name is kept holy when His Word is taught in its truth and purity, as we as children of God lead holy lives according to it. This is how a holy man kept a holy name holy: by teaching the truth and by living the truth. Through Christ, we have no ‘dirty laundry’ to be ashamed of before God’s holy throne-Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

What do you know for sure? Pastor Krueger shares the apostle Paul’s thoughts on exactly what we can know for sure about all things. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him…” Romans 8:28a

When we pray, we don’t just pray. Our prayers need to be lived! So often when we pray, we pray and then we sit back and say, “Well Lord, when are YOU going to do something about my prayer?” That’s NOT living our prayers. Pastor Krueger tells us HOW Jesus lived the Fourth Petition with thankfulness, with contentment, with trust and with generosity.
Based on 1 Samuel 3:1-10, Pastor Iwinski reminds us that God has called YOU by name, just as He did Samuel. Listen to Him and cherish the Word for what it is. Read it and hear it again and again. In these words receive Christ and so be saved.
Our life on this earth as Christians is about making a difference. Pastor Krueger shares how the words of our lesson, "one of these little ones", applies to making a difference in the lives of not only the unborn, but also those who have been touched by abortion.

In many ways life is about connections. Satan knows this, so throughout our lives the enemy will seek to destroy our connections.

In a very impersonal world, Christians have a personal relationship with the creator of the universe! He knows exactly what each person needs before they do. The LORD knows we need constant protection from a world where even satan disguises himself as an angel of light. The LORD doesn’t just check up on us, He camps out with us every day of our lives! Every single day of your future is already filled with blessings! Some things may not feel like blessings, but the LORD’s ultimate goal is for you to ‘dwell in the house of the LORD forever”.

What is the most difficult thing you have ever done? Today Pastor Iwinski talks about sharing our faith-perhaps the simplest, yet most difficult thing to do. We often forget we don’t do this alone, we share the Gospel in Christ, in the power of the Spirit. YOU can do this!
In light of Mother’s Day, this isn’t such a strange question. From whom did you learn to speak, how to nurture others, or to treat others kindly? In most cases, this person would be mom. In a sense, mom is “in us”. Much more importantly, Jesus is in us if we are in Jesus. Today Pastor Iwinski explains this spiritual phenomenon. 1 John 4:1-11

There seems to be something incomplete about the second petition of the Lord’s Prayer. Are we praying for the Lord’s kingdom to come to a certain place? Are we praying for God’s kingdom to come upon one or more individuals? Are we praying in the sense of time, such as when we pray, come quickly Lord Jesus?

The meaning of the third petition tells us this means that God’s good and gracious will certainly is done without our prayer, but we pray in this petition that it may be done among us also. This is a hard prayer to pray. We must remember that God our heavenly Father desires the best for us even when it appears otherwise.
